7th Floor Records | Bound Volumes and Indexes

The 7th Floor Records Project is a special project of the Tuscaloosa Genealogical Society Inc. with a mission to preserve, digitize, index, and publish the 19th century court records that were previously stored on the 7th floor of the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse.

The bound records collection consists of 539 volumes ranging in date from 1822 through 1961. As of 1 September 2022, all 539 of the volumes have been filmed and 265 of them have been indexed. Volunteers are now working on making all images and indexes available on the new TGS website hosted by FastPages.

Thank you for your patience as the images and book indexes are added to the new site. Note each image is not linked. To find your person of interest, take note of the book and image number. Go to the Gallery for the book and find that image.

We hope you find joy and connections with these court records. If you are interested, we welcome anyone who would like to participate in linking images with their names. Please reach out to Jan Hutchison with any questions.
